Players control both Alyson and Tyler, having conversations with characters and solving puzzles along the way. At the beginning of the game, the twins arrive at Delos Crossing intending to sell their mother's house, but begin to search for clues behind their traumatic childhood. Similar in style to games like Telltale's The Walking Dead or The Wolf Among Us, Tell Me Why is all about exploring your environment, looking for clues, and talking with other characters.
Generally speaking, Tell Me Why offers an exciting mystery with enough twists and turns to motivate you through its three episodes. With their bond as siblings in jeopardy, they must uncover the truth behind their mother's accident and settle the score.
However, as memories resurface and the stress of that fateful night returns, the twins must face the consequences of their actions. Now, ten years later, Tyler reunites with Alyson and the pair hopes to sell their childhood home in Delos Crossing, Alaska. After Tyler confessed to the murder of his mother, he was sent to a juvenile detention center to serve his sentence. Tell Me Why follows Tyler and Alyson Ronan, two twins who are separated after a deadly incident in their childhood that left their mother dead.
